THIS IS THE OFFICIAL ENTRY SYSTEM FOR THE 2023 STATE FAIR OF VIRGINIA YOUTH LIVESTOCK SHOWS HELD SEPTEMBER 29TH - OCTOBER 2ND, 2022. THIS ENTRY SYSTEM COLLECTS ENTRIES FOR:

YOUTH BEEF CATTLE

YOUTH MEAT GOATS

YOUTH SHEEP

YOUTH SWINE

All animals, even those previously NOMINATED through the Nomination system, must be entered through THIS ENTRY SYSTEM for the 2023 State Fair Youth Livestock Shows - During this process, your entry fees will be assessed and an invoice generated that indicates your payment due for entry fees.

PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION. IMPORTANT DETAILS REGARDING THE ENTRY PROCESS, INFORMATION NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE ENTRY PROCESS, AND DETAILS FOR SEVERAL DIVISIONS ARE NOTED BELOW.

Please make sure you review all the RULES prior to entering the system. There are a number of rule changes for 2023 and you are responsible for reading and complying with both the General Rules of the State Fair of VA AND the rules specific to the Youth Livestock Shows. You will be asked during the entry process to confirm that you have read and understood the rules for the 2023 State Fair of Virginia Youth Livestock Shows. NOT reading the rules is not a valid excuse for NOT complying with the rules.

Entry Fees: Entry fees for 2023 are $15.00/class with the exception of Costume/Leadline Classes which are $10.00/class.

There are no entry fees for showmanship, Skillathon (exhibitors), Premier Exhibitor, or Promotional Displays.

Please make sure that you have the following information on hand prior to beginning the entry process.

NOMINATED ANIMALS:

State Fair Nomination Tag Numbers and Information will be required for:

Market Beef and Commercial/Crossbred Heifers

For Market Goats, Commercial Does, Market Lambs, Commercial Ewes, Non-Registered Market Hogs, and Crossbred Breeding Gilts you will provide the number of head for each division that you want to enter. Specific animal identification will be collected during weigh-in/check-in at the SFVA. ***When prompted during the entry system, you will select "I will specify animal information later" and then choose the number of head you wish to enter for that class from the drop down menu.***

Please remember that only animals previously and correctly nominated are eligible to be shown.

REGISTERED ANIMALS:

RFID Tag Numbers, Registration numbers, tattoo information, and animals REGISTERED name or ID will be required for all Registered Heifers, Registered Breeding Does, Registered Ewes, Registered Market Hogs, and Registered Breeding Gilts.

***You will be required to upload a copy of the Registration Certificate for each Registered Animal you enter*** This included Registered Market Steers

Every Registered Animal must be registered in the name of or transferred to the Exhibitor no later than August 1st, 2023 - NO EXCEPTIONS.

SHOWMANSHIP and SKILLATHON: Every exhibitor will be entered in the appropriate Showmanship Class and Skillathon Division for each species in which they have animals entered. While neither of these is mandatory, they are required for consideration in the Premier Exhibitor competition.

You will NOT find a Showmanship, Skillathon, or Premier Exhibitor Division in the entry process - EXHIBITORS WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE ENTERED BY DATE OF BIRTH, AND CAN SCRATCH BY THE DESIGNATED TIMES IF THEY CHOOSE NOT TO PARTICIPATE.

Annual YQCA Certification/Training is required for all State Fair Youth Livestock Exhibitors by August 15th. Valid training dates and locations will be verified through the National YQCA Program. Youth failing to complete their required annual certification are ineligible to show.

Failure to provide any of the requested information will result in your entry being rejected and returned for completion.

***All Entry Fees must be paid for via check. You must mail a check for entry payment and entries will not be considered final until payment is received.

Failure to provide payment for your entries by September 15th will result in your entries being deemed invalid and you will not receive credentials or be allowed to show at the 2023 State Fair of VA.

Entries that are received and approved, but payment never made, will result in the exhibitor being billed for the amount due. Failure to pay current year entry fees may result in suspension from future State Fair of VA Youth Livestock Shows.

IMPORTANT LOG-IN INFORMATION: ALL 4-H youth must use the GREEN "Sign-In with 4HOnline" button to access the entry system. Please check with your local 4-H Agent to make sure you/your child are enrolled and approved in the 4HOnline system prior to beginning the entry process. You will need your 4HOnline log-in credentials - if you do not know which email you used or are not familiar with 4HOnline, please contact your local 4-H Agent or Extension Office PRIOR to beginning this process.

All youth entering as an FFA member will use the open Email/Password boxes and BLUE "Sign-In" button to access the entry system. Failure to follow these directions will result in your entries being rejected and the need to resubmit.
